Digestive System

Image
The digestive system includes  the mouth, pharynx (throat), esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, rectum, and anus . It also includes the salivary glands, liver, gallbladder, and pancreas, which make digestive juices and enzymes that help the body digest food and liquids. Digestion is  important for breaking down food into nutrients , which the body uses for energy, growth, and cell repair. Digestion works by moving food through the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. Digestion begins in the mouth with chewing and ends in the small intestine Movement of Food Through G.I Tract Food moves through your GI tract by a process called peristalsis. The large, hollow organs of your GI tract contain a layer of muscle that enables their walls to move. The movement pushes food and liquid through your GI tract and mixes the contents within each organ. The muscle behind the food contracts and squeezes the food forward, while the muscle in front of the food relaxes to allow t...

Motor points( Upper Limb)

Image
Motor point is a small area on a muscle at which the minimal amount of electrical stimulation will cause muscle to contract. How to find motor point To locate your own  motor point  more accurately, you can move the positive electrode slightly (red cable) and watch where the muscle response is the best (strongest twitch of the same intensity). The  motor point  pen is an accessory that is sold separately in order to  find  the  motor point Motor points of upper limb Placement of electrodes is very important  red and black electrode cat is black black is active means pen electrode will be black while red one will be pad electrode. . Scapula bone has 17 to 18 muscle attachments. There is total of 639 muscles in our body out of which 634 are paired and the remaining 5 muscles are unpaired.in this post I am going to tell the pneumonics to remember the 18 muscle attachments that will be easy for students to remember and it will be a great help to my medical students. the Scapula is known as the shoulder blade, it's a flat triangular bone with 2 surfaces coastal and dorsal surfaces with 3 angles superior, inferior and lateral angle, and lateral angle is known as the glenoid angle as well. the scapula bone has 3 borders as well superior border lateral border and medical border. Scapula bone has 3 basic prominences tip of the coracoid process acromion process and crest of the spine of the scapula exactly crest of the spine is the structure that is present on the dorsal surface that separates into the supraspinous fossa and infraspinous fossa from where the respective muscles supraspinatus and infraspinatus takes its ...
